Hospital Collaborations

We feel very fortunate to have collaborated with a few of the finest Hospitals serving children diagnosed with Cancer. We have visited all three of the hospitals listed, and we are so impressed with the care and professionalism of all the people we met there. Watching the doctors and nurses interact with these beautiful children and how these children responded to their caregivers, shows the level of care and compassion they have at these wonderful hospitals. We are grateful that Children’s Hospital of New Orleans, Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida, and Ochsner Hospital for Children have welcomed our Foundation and allowed us to be a part of their pediatric cancer patients lives.

The Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida – a standalone, state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2017 – is on a mission to deliver vital and lifesaving care for children and their families throughout the region. Our highly trained staff believes that every child is special. Children deserve innovative care in an environment that soothes anxiety and fear. All of us – doctors, nurses, advocates, social workers, and volunteers – share that vision and care for you like family. As the only children’s hospital between Tampa and Miami, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida delivers vital and lifesaving care for children and their families. Our highly trained team members are motivated by the belief that every child is special and deserves the best care possible.

Once housed inside HealthPark Medical Center, the children’s hospital became a standalone 300,000-square-foot, 7-story facility in 2017 thanks to a groundbreaking $20 million gift from philanthropist Tom Golisano. It now provides a variety of specialized services – from emergency care to behavioral health, surgery to critical care, orthopedics, cancer treatment, cardiology, pediatric neurosurgery, and more. Its Specialized Cancer Care is built on a commitment of compassionate care and support, for children with cancer and blood disorders. We help families right here in our area maintain as much of their normal daily lives as possible while a child undergoes treatment.

The State of Florida Department of Children’s Medical Services designated our Hematology/Oncology program as one of just nine centers in the state for infants and children diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders. We ensure that patients have access to advanced therapies and the collective expertise of world-renowned specialists.

The hospital is a member of Children’s Miracle Network, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for children’s hospitals across the nation. Local donations to the Children’s Miracle Network stay in Southwest Florida to support Golisano Children’s Hospital.
